our story

Your hosts

We are Vanessa and Joël. Each has our specialties – creative cooking, hospitality, interior design, gardening – but we share the same pleasure: welcoming you to our home with simplicity and generosity.

Having arrived in the Bay of Somme in 2019, we fell in love with this former 18th-century presbytery, which was converted into a guest house by Corinne and Franck in 2005. In turn, we are bringing this place full of serenity to life and developing a subtle blend of charm, craftsmanship, and eco-tourism.

From the kitchens of the guest table to our craft beers, the Presbyterian and the Octante, from the preparation of the accommodations to the maintenance of the garden, Vanessa and Joël ensure that every detail of your stay is up to standard.

An 18th-century presbytery

Perched thirty meters above sea level on the Saigneville cliff, our presbytery discreetly overlooks the Somme valley. Behind its stone walls lies a walled garden, a vegetable patch, two gypsy caravans, and a serenity that time seems to have forgotten.

The building has retained its original staircase, exposed beams, and that unique atmosphere that only old stone can offer. We have furnished it with modern comforts while respecting its soul: quality bedding, contemporary shower rooms, Wi-Fi, and that gentle warmth that welcomes you whatever the season.

Our eco-responsible commitment

Living in the Bay of Somme means living at the heart of a precious ecosystem. We take care of it every day.

An active member of the Baie de Somme Zero Carbon network since 2024 and holder of Booking's Travel Sustainable badge, we are moving every day towards a more responsible welcome: local and seasonal products in the kitchen, sorting and composting, responsible management of water and energy, circular economy, and encouragement of soft mobility.

Our philosophy can be summed up in one sentence: consume local, consume green, consume mindfully.

You too can participate in this initiative during your stay:

  • Remember to turn off the lights and heating when you leave the room

  • Use our recycling bins and the garden compost

  • For stays longer than one night, linens are only changed upon request.
